Stellenbosch University staff may apply for access to the SUNid service to be able to engage persons on behalf of a Stellenbosch University department. SUNid grants access to an external worker/visitor as part of the Identity and Access Management.

FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES 

SUNid is used to create Stellenbosch University engagements for persons who are not staff members (appointed by HR) nor students (enrolled by SIS). At present there are 3 sources of engagement at Stellenbosch University: HR, SIS & SUNid. IT provides support to all 3 systems to enable their functionality.

SUNid does not grant any access to users.

SUNid can allocates US number to a person if the person does not already have a US number at the time of engagement.
